Jason A. Schmidt graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Political Science, and as a lawyer from Queen’s University with a Juris Doctor degree. While studying to become a lawyer, Jason was very involved volunteering with Queen’s Legal Aid. Jason articled in a Toronto litigation firm, following which he relocated to Port Hope to join what became Mann McCracken Bebee & Schmidt.
Jason is a lawyer with extensive experience in a broad range of civil litigation matters, and has appeared before the Superior Court, the Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal, Small Claims Court, the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Board, the Social Security Tribunal, and various professional disciplinary bodies.

Morgan Payne graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience. Morgan obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Bond University located on the Gold Coast Queensland, Australia. Morgan articled at Mann McCracken Bebee & Associates in Northumberland County.
Morgan practices in family law, wills and real estate. These three areas of law are greatly intertwined ensuring that Morgan can help you will all aspects of your separation. Morgan has experience working in both a court room setting and in negotiations outside the court. Morgan is also involved as a board member of the Northumberland County Law Association.

Nolan Hand is an articling student with Schmidt Law Legal Services*. He has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and a Juris Doctor degree, both from the University of Saskatchewan in his hometown of Saskatoon.
While attending law school, Nolan volunteered with a local legal aid clinic, largely on tenancy issues and matters regarding accessibility, and worked with the University on research projects focused on employment law and human rights law.

Alison Herron is a Cobourg native who holds a Legal Administration/Law Clerk designation from Durham College.
Alison worked in a large Toronto firm for several years before returning to her home town to join Mann McCracken Bebee & Schmidt, and subsequently Schmidt Law Legal Services*.

Shelley graduated from George Brown College with a diploma in Legal Administration. Her career started in Toronto where she worked for ten years as a real estate law clerk before relocating to the Durham region.
Shelley worked for a law firm in Whitby for eighteen years and now locally in Port Hope for the past three years. Shelley brings 31 years of real estate experience to Schmidt Law Legal Services*.

Erin Kelly graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Arts joint degree in English and Sociology.
Erin first began her career as a civil litigation assistant in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Erin eventually made her way back to her home town in southern Ontario where she worked for several years as a family law clerk in Durham Region.
Erin has a total of 23 years experience working as a law clerk, 18 of which have been in the area of family law.

Lindsey Logel obtained her Bachelor of Applied Arts – Paralegal Studies from Humber College and obtained her Paralegal license in 2009. Lindsey worked in the area of Personal Injury Litigation for 9 years before joining Schmidt Law Legal Services* in 2017.
Lindsey has experience of attending mediations before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Lindsey represents our clients in Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant Board Hearings and the Human Rights Tribunals. Lindsey is compassionate to our clients’ needs and provides them with guidance from start to finish.
